The Texas alcoholic beverage Commission requires Conduct Surety Bonds to be filed. This Bond will cost either $5000 or $10,000, and are typically easily attained. These are regularly required for any new on-premises businesses for their first three years. You can waive this requirement if the applicant is qualified for a food and beverage certificate, or if there is a majority interest and another on-premise location where the Conduct Surety Bond has already been issued.
The $10,000 bond will be required in the cases where
- the applicant has been charged with an offense under the code and currently has no bond posted
- the applicant's premises are located within 1000 feet of a public or private school that exists in an alcohol exclusion zone ordinance passed by the city or County
